Candlestick Patterns · Bullish
Morning Doji Star
A morning star whose middle candle is a doji.
The middle candle opens and closes in the same place after a gap down from a bearish candle. The third candle closes back into the first body.
This is an example of how traders often plan the pattern. It is not a promise that price will reach the target.
Identification
- The first candle is bearish.
- The middle candle is a doji, often gapped below the first body.
- The third candle is bullish and closes into the first body.
Market context
The doji makes the stall clearer than a small-bodied morning star, but it still needs the third candle.
Entry example
An example entry is above the third candle.
Stop-loss example
An example stop is below the doji low.
Target example
An example target is the open of the first candle.
Common mistakes
- Calling a normal morning star a doji star when the middle candle has a real body.
