Candlestick Patterns · Bullish
Bullish Abandoned Baby
A bearish candle, a gap-down doji, then a bullish candle that gaps up.
The doji is isolated. Its range does not overlap either neighbor. That separation is what makes the pattern rare.
This is an example of how traders often plan the pattern. It is not a promise that price will reach the target.
Identification
- The middle candle is a doji.
- It gaps below the first candle.
- The third candle gaps above the doji and closes bullish.
Market context
If any wick overlaps, it is a morning doji star or an ordinary three-candle pattern, not an abandoned baby.
Entry example
An example entry is above the third candle.
Stop-loss example
An example stop is below the isolated doji.
Target example
An example target is the open of the first candle.
Common mistakes
- Using the name when the doji still overlaps a neighboring wick.
Candlestick and chart patterns are probabilistic observations, not guaranteed trading signals. This page does not report a win rate.
