Candlestick Patterns · Bullish
Bullish Harami
A small bullish body inside the prior large bearish body.
The decline pauses. The second body is completely inside the first body, which shows less follow-through from sellers.
This is an example of how traders often plan the pattern. It is not a promise that price will reach the target.
Identification
- The first candle is a relatively large bearish candle.
- The second body is small and sits inside the first body.
- The second candle does not break the first candle's range by much.
Market context
After a decline, the harami is a pause. It is weaker than an engulfing pattern because buyers have not taken the prior body back.
Entry example
An example entry waits for a close above the first candle's high.
Stop-loss example
An example stop is below the first candle's low.
Target example
An example target is the swing that began the decline.
Common mistakes
- Treating the inside candle as a completed reversal.
