Candlestick Patterns · Bearish
Bearish Marubozu
A long bearish candle with little or no shadow.
Price opened near the high and closed near the low. Sellers controlled the whole candle.
This is an example of how traders often plan the pattern. It is not a promise that price will reach the target.
Identification
- The candle is bearish and long.
- Shadows are tiny or absent.
- The close is at or next to the low.
Market context
It shows strong selling during that candle. At the end of a long decline it can also be exhaustion.
Entry example
An example entry is a later break of the marubozu low.
Stop-loss example
An example stop is back through the marubozu high.
Target example
An example target is the next prior low.
Common mistakes
- Selling a long red candle that has already run into a known support area.
