Candlestick Patterns · Bearish
Tweezer Top
Two candles that share the same high after a rally.
Price tests one high twice and does not continue up. The matching highs are the pattern.
This is an example of how traders often plan the pattern. It is not a promise that price will reach the target.
Identification
- Two adjacent highs are essentially equal.
- The pair comes after a rally.
- The second candle preferably closes off that high.
Market context
A shared high is more useful at a prior resistance area than in open space.
Entry example
An example entry is below the lower low of the two candles.
Stop-loss example
An example stop is above the shared high.
Target example
An example target is the swing low before the rally.
Common mistakes
- Shorting two green candles that merely look similar.
Candlestick and chart patterns are probabilistic observations, not guaranteed trading signals. This page does not report a win rate.
