Continuation Patterns · Bullish
Ascending Triangle
Flat highs with rising lows.
Sellers defend one price while buyers step in at higher lows. The bullish example is a close through the flat high.
This is an example of how traders often plan the pattern. It is not a promise that price will reach the target.
Identification
- Highs line up horizontally.
- Lows rise toward that line.
- The example trigger is a close above the flat highs.
Market context
This shape often shows up as a continuation, but the flat high can also reject price. The break is the evidence.
Entry example
An example entry is the close above the flat resistance.
Stop-loss example
An example stop is below the last higher low.
Target example
A common teaching method adds the triangle height to the break.
Common mistakes
- Buying inside the triangle before resistance actually breaks.
Candlestick and chart patterns are probabilistic observations, not guaranteed trading signals. This page does not report a win rate.
